LastPass is the online security track which measures with just one master password. It is in news that the site is hacked at last Friday according to the company’s own blog post which is published today. But it is not good news.

Joe Siegrist, CEO of LastPass wrote in a blog post that the company does not believe about users account were access in the attack but the company is messaging the users to change their master passwords for their safety.

LastPass ‘ solution allows its 76 million users to only have to memorize a single strong password, which can be used to access all account passwords & logins separately. It can store by LastPass in encrypted user vaults.

LastPass now disclose about it discovered & blocked doubtful activity on its network on last Friday. Additional investigation publicized that password, email addresses, reminders, server per user salt i.e. a data added to make the passwords stronger and authenticated hashes were all negotiated. But there is also a good news that no account were negotiated, and hackers didn’t gain access to encrypted user vault data which will also include all users’ account logins & passwords stored by LastPass individually.

LastPass says that it is very difficult to crack the master passwords because of its strong encryption method which are as long as users were creating strong master passwords. Siegrist post in his blog that the company is confident about its encryption measures are enough to protect the huge majority of users.

Some of the LastPass users weren’t satisfied that how they found about this rumour. On Monday, there were so many comments the website of the company that the users came to know about this incident from Twitter, Reddit and elsewhere but not from the direct email from LastPass.
