ISRO plans to launch more satellites

The chairman of ISRO, Kiran Kumar said, “The next launch going to take place is GSLV-Mark-II. Satellite has already reached Sriharikota and is going through final tests. We plan to make the next launch in August.”

He said that the organization has been done and there have been noteworthy changes in the innovative plan.

Kumar said that they are expecting to launch the next navigational satellite in November.

By asking about the plans of launching the satellites, he said, “right now discussions are going on for one more mission to Mars or Venus or we should look at asteroids. There is a science team which is going through this discussion.” He said this in the reply of asking about the launches of similar to the Mars Orbiter Mission and Chandrayann.

If asked about the status of Mangalyan, he said that there is no contact between the ground station and satellite from last 15 days. “Now we are back on track. Now operations have resumed. Having crossed this hurdle we expect the longevity of the satellite to be quite normal and the health of satellite is in good health”.

On the status of Chandrayaan-II, he said that presently it is going throughout the phase of realization.

Kumar said that ISRO has compiled 74 satellite launches and 120 missions including the launch of that day.

Someone asked that it was the heaviest profitable launch worldwide; his answer was it could not be anything near to that. He also added, “Our maximum capacity is 1700-1800 kg whereas international heaviest launches are somewhere around six to seven tons.”

He said, “So far, 27 national satellite and 45 international satellites have been launched.”
