Honda gets permission to run self-driving cars from California DMV on the public roads at California. Honda Motor Corp had unveiled a model Acura RLX with many technologies and sensors, which are required for a self-driving car last summer. After that occasion, Honda has not unveiled anything about its autonomous vehicle project.
Now, California DMV website has includes Honda among the 10 companies that have been given permission to drive their self-driving vehicles on the public road. Honda has been wordlessly working on its self-driving car project.
Honda Motor Corp has also signed a project with a vehicle testing service in Concord, near San Francisco.
Google, BMW, Delphi Automotive, Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz, Cruise Automation, Bosch, Tesla Motors Inc, Volkswagen and Nissan Motor Corp have been also received permission to run their self-driving cars on roads in California.
Apple is also working on an autonomous vehicle, but the company has not said officially anything about the silent project on which the engineers of Apple are working.
As most of the companies are working on autonomous vehicle technology, market specialists are expecting the first saleable autonomous vehicle available by 2020.
With the entry of Honda, Volkswagen, and BMW, the autonomous vehicle sector will be the upcoming big thing for the automobile segment.
