Total production is aimed for 2017. According to a report from Thursday, it taunted a dot for connection. Apple may be producing the iPhones with flexible screens in the future.

LG Display also announced Thursday that it would spend 1.05 trillion won in about the next two years to make a factory for flexible OLED (organic light-emitting diode).

The flat panel producer sprints to manufacture lines in Gumi and Paju, north of Seoul. The Paju factory making large-size OLED panels, which will useful for the TVs and smartphones; a large amount of the smaller OLEDs for vehicle parts and wearable are build in the southern regional city of Gumi. The new factory will be in Gumi.

According to the Yonhap News Agency, the latest production line will have the capacity to produce 75 million sheets per month, which is four times higher than the present flexible OLED facility.

The Telegraph said, “The new line will produce more than 200 cuts 5.5-inch cuts from a single plastic substrate sheet – the same size as an iPhone 6 Plus display.”

Flexible plastic OLED (organic light emitting display) will be reducing the usage of glass screens.

LG Display in its Thursday announcement cleared that flexible OLED display has materialized as a beneficial source, which can be extensive use in other devices such as vehicles and watches consoles beyond smartphones.

Reuters shared two names on Thursday that is LG display and Samsung display as the key players, which are capable for the large production of OLED screens. These screens are more flexible and use less power than the present LCDs.
