News and social media survey of Pew, which conducted in March 2015, exposes that 63% Twitter users get news from the social media site while 63% of Facebook users also get news from the same site. That is up 52% from Twitter and 63% of Facebook users get news in the year 2013.

Pew Director of Journalism Research Amy Mitchell says, “As social networking sites recognize and adapt to their role in the news environment, each will offer unique features. These different ways of connecting with news have implications for how Americans learn about the world and their communities and for how they take part in the democratic process”.

The number represents that the Twitter is more popular in the comparison of Facebook to get a news update and feedbacks. In 2015, 59% of the Twitter users get an update from the site while, at the Facebook, only 31% users are getting news from the similar site. The reason of more people getting news from the Twitter because many organizations post breaking headlines on Twitter in a little while they get the information. Facebook is making effort to catch more online news conversation with a new app of its own that is news search engine. It is a feature on which Facebook is working currently.
