Nokia said in a statement that this ball-shaped camera has eight shutter sensors, which can capture 3D footage for the content for devices like virtual reality headsets. The company introduced this virtual reality camera during an event at Los Angeles. Many representatives attended this event from big studios and production houses.

The product also indicates that Nokia desires to revisit to plans further than network tools after existing mobile phones last year. A slew of virtual-reality headsets are hitting the market as companies such as Facebook Inc., Sony Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co. seek to win over users with the ski-goggles-styled gadgets that let people immerse themselves in virtual games or experience new locations.
