BSNL decided to improve its broadband speed from 512Kbps to 2Mbps
On Monday, State-run telecom service provider BSNL decided to improve its Broadband speed from 512Kbps to 2Mbps for broadband customers with no additional cost from October 1.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister for Communication and Information System launched this facility in Gurgaon.
This move of BSNL came in the light of under Modi’s dream project “Digital India”.
On this occasion, Prasad said that BSNL works competently in natural disasters and it has proved itself in Nepal earthquake, Jammu & Kashmir floods and Andhra Pradesh cyclones.
He said, “When BSNL can deliver its services well in natural calamities, then it should be able to provide better services during normal conditions.”

He said that the country is passing via a changing phase. He also adds that BSNL has to play a significant role in these changes.
He reminded that he was also a communication minister in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and when the government dissolves in 2004, BSNL profited by Rs. 10,000 crores.
Prasad again said that he is in the same responsibility now and when he analyzed the records, it was found that BSNL is facing a loss of Rs.8, 000 crores. “At that very moment I said that BSNL has to improve and I will support.”
He also said that BSNL also offering a free 1GB email box to the users from 50MB mail box. He also said that the speed up gradation would give benefit to the existing and new users of the BSNL’s Broadband Customers.
