Prime Minister Narendra modi started a programme titled Digital India Initiative. This project has 1 lac crore as the total overlay. This project aims to make sure all the citizens of India would connect electronically to the services of the government of India. So that people get benefits by the newest information and communication technology.

On Tuesday PM’s new Digital India Initiative launched two new programmes i.e. ‘www.khoyapaya.gov.in’ which is useful to follow missing children while the other programme is ‘IAP Health Phones’ to find women and children’s malnutrition. It is world’s largest programme which is running by ‘Digital Mass Education Programme’ which address women & children’ malnutrition while ‘www.khoyapaya.gov.in’ is Modi’s brainchild. It is a useful website to share the related information about missing children.

Digital India Initiative

This website was jointly launched by Ravishankar Prasad, Minister of ‘Union Information Technology’, Ravishankar Prasad and Maneka Gandhi, Minister of women & child Development. While ‘IPA Health Phone programme’ was introduced by’ Indian academy of Paediatrics (IPA)’ with the partnership of Women & Child Development and UNICEF. Vodafone India is also backing the same programme.

Maneka said that every citizen can participate in ‘khoyapaya’ portal to maintain the features of ‘track child. It allows connecting every citizen so that they can take part to track the missing child. She said, “We are trying this type of portal first time in India”. According a survey of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) every year the no. of missing children is about 70,000 and according to the ‘Track child’ Portal around 73,597 children are found and also reunite with their parents during the period of January 2012- April 2015.

Prasad said, “We should use technology for the benefit of poor. The launch of this portal gives concrete shape to that great thought. This will help in better coordination to locate the missing children.”

The ‘Khoyapaya’ is an available platform, where can report the information about missing children by not to wasting their lot of time. The ‘found ‘children can also be reported by the mean of text, photographs, videos and another way of uploading & transmitting information. While the IAP Health Phone Programme is a ‘public-private partnership initiative’ which leverages the growing distribution of mobile phones to educate more than 6 million women between the ages of 13-35 in the country.
