The social networking giant, Facebook reveals it is making a massive wind-powered data center in Texas to bring more computing capacity for the 1.4 billion users on the social network online. It will help them to share the stories of the user’s lives with their family & friends.

Facebook committed to empowering all the operations with the help of 50% renewable energy in the coming three years. In the first stage, the Texas will extend up to 5, 00,000 square feet under the Fort Worth Plant, which will cost of USD 500 million. It will locate a nearly 111-Acre site and also leaving an abundant room for further extending.

In the starting, Facebook Inc will employ 40 people at the data center. It will rely exclusively to keep its computer servers running on wind power.

Facebook also wants to expand its data center like other big internet companies so as more & more people across the world gain the online access for their smartphones and boost the command for their digital services.

Fort Worth Star- Telegram reported that the Fort Worth Plant will handle the increasing demand of 700 million Messenger and 300 million Instagram users and those companies & groups which are promoting their business and membership by the means of it.

The Facebook data center’s computers store billion of images and videos as well updates and status uploaded by the users on social networking sites every day.

This will be the fourth data center of Facebook in the United States by following the Oregon, Iowa, and North Carolina. The company’s solitary overseas data center is the Menlo Park, California in Sweden.

Google Inc, a Facebook competitor, just picked Alabama to be the home of its 14th data center in the world and seventh in the US.

Google’s newest data center also will run entirely on renewable energy sources such as the wind and solar power to reduce pollution.
